Renewal Procedures

Application must be submitted 60 days before the current permit expires. Apply electronically via the official portal, then attend the appointment at the migration office with original documents.

Required Documents

- Passport valid for at least 60 days beyond the requested period + copy of data page and last entry stamp.
- 4 recent biometric photos with white background.
- Copy of old permit (both sides).
- Notarized rental contract signed by both parties.
- Address registration document (İkametgah) from the population registry or e-Devlet.
- Valid health insurance covering the entire requested period (travel insurance not accepted).
- Bank statement for the last 3 months showing sufficient balance.
- Receipts for tax fee (Harç) and card fee (Kart Bedeli).

Additional Notes

- The application window opens 60 days before expiry; the last day to apply is the expiry date itself.
- A rental contract alone is no longer sufficient; a utility bill in the applicant's name and a documented tourism plan (reservations) are required.
- Proof of income equivalent to 1.5 times the minimum wage (approx. 49,500 TL/month) is required.
- Some districts in Istanbul and other provinces are closed to new foreign registrations if the foreign population exceeds 20%.
- For applicants under 18: a translated and notarized family record book, plus copies of parents'/guardian's permits.
