Foreigners wishing to stay in Turkey for more than 90 days within a 180-day period must apply. Applications are submitted exclusively through the e-İkamet system, followed by an in-person appointment at the Migration Office.
- Valid passport valid for at least 60 days beyond the requested period (original + copy).
- 4 recent biometric photos (white background, 50×60mm).
- Application form printed from the e-İkamet system and signed.
- Rental contract registered via e-Devlet or notarized.
- Recent utility bill (electricity/water/gas) in the applicant's name as address proof.
- Valid health insurance covering the entire requested period.
- Turkish tax identification number (Vergi Kimlik Numarası).
- Proof of monthly income of at least 42,000 TL (approximately 1.5 times the minimum wage).
- Detailed travel itinerary explaining the purpose of extended stay.
- Receipt for permit fees (paid after approval).
- Tourist permits are granted for 6 months to 2 years; the residence card is sent via PTT within 30–90 days.
- Neighborhoods where foreigners exceed 25% of the local population are closed to new registrations.
- Notarized sponsorship letters were abolished as of April 20, 2026.
- The 2026 residence card fee is 964 TL.
- No legal violations or overstay of permitted duration is allowed.
- Under 18: translated and notarized family record book, plus copy of parents'/guardian's permit.
